STOOS RAILWAYS

Timetables, prices, arrival etc.

The Stoos railways, funicular from Schwyz & cable car from Morschach, connect to the car-free mountain village Stoos – while setting a world record. The funicular railway from Schwyz to Stoos is the steepest in the world. A technical wonder, which makes the trip a one-of-a-kind experience. Once you reach Stoos, a paradise of stunning landscapes and holiday leisure awaits guests in summer and winter.

Summer activities The mountain village, above Lake Lucerne is a destination for a variety of family trips and offers a range of mountain sports activities. Breathtaking views await you on the panorama terrace of the Fronalpstock and on the ridge hiking trail from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock. Families can discover the new adventure trails Stooshorn-Runde and Fronalpweg.

Winter activities The winter sports region on the Fronalpstock and Klingenstock offers 35 kilometres of fun on the pistes. Both amateurs and professionals will find a piste suiting their wishes as well as a course in the snow sports school based on their skills. Cross-country skiing trails, Snowpark and winter hiking trails are prepared on a daily basis. Tobogganers and airboarders can speed down the slope on separate pistes on the Fronalpstock.

Cash dispenser A ATM is available at the Stoos Shop & Rental at the mountain station of the funicular.

Wheelchair / Stroller Funicular from Schwyz: Suitable for wheelchairs & stroller. Aerial cable car from Morschach: Rather not suitable because it is very small. Chair lifts Fronalpstock: If you can fold the stroller, it can be lifted with the chair lifts.
