STOOS RIDGE HIKE

360° panorama on the world-famous ridge hiking trail from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock

If you want to experience the full panorama, hike the popular ridge trail from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock.

The Schwyz mountains, the peaks of Uri and the Glarus peaks vie for your attention. The ridge trail keeps what its name promises: vertically down on the left lies Lake Lucerne, on the right the view drops off into the Muota valley.

The hike is classified according to the difficulty level T3 of the SAC scale. For the hike, good hiking equipment, surefootedness, shoes with non-slip soles and good physical condition are strongly recommended. The hiking trail is secured with chains from approx. beginning of June until approx. beginning of November.
ATTENTION: THE CHAINS ON THE RIDGE HIKE ARE CURRENTLY NOT MOUNTED

Our recommendation for your ridge hike experience:

  1. journey to the Stoos

    • from Schwyz with the funicular Schwyz-Stoos (approx. 7 minutes) or

    • from Morschach with the cable car Morschach-Stoos (approx. 17 minutes)

  2. footpath to the valley station of the chair lift Klingenstock

    • (approx. 15 minutes from the top station of the Schwyz-Stoos funicular) or

    • (approx. 25 minutes from the top station of the Morschach-Stoos cable car)

  3. ascent with the chair lift Klingenstock (approx. 15 minutes)

  4. hike along the ridge hike from Klingenstock to Fronalpstock (approx. 2 hours)

  5. break 😊 (viewing platform / summit Fronalpstock Hotel | Restaurant)

  6. descent with the Fronalpstock chairlifts (approx. 20 minutes)

  7. footpath from the valley station of the Fronalpstock chairlifts

    • to the top station of the Schwyz-Stoos funicular (approx. 10 minutes) oder

    • to the top station of the cable car Morschach-Stoos (approx. 5 minutes)

  8. descent

    • to Schwyz with the funicular Schwyz-Stoos (approx. 7 minutes) oder

    • to Morschach with the cable car Morschach-Stoos (approx. 17 minutes)

PEAK EXPERIENCE TICKET

For the hike on the ridge hike the summit experience ticket (day ticket) is recommended. This includes all mountain railroads, which are needed for the arrival and return of the hike. To avoid waiting times at the valley station, we recommend that you book this online in advance:
